Seatbelts and burgers

This week, “Click It Or Ticket,” the national seat belt enforcement mobilization, kicks off with a rewarding treat for those wearing their seat belts in Cuyahoga County. Starting May 17, between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m, customers will be able to receive FREE burger coupons at Sonic’s Mayfield or Parma locations for just for wearing their seat belts. The campaign is intended to increase seat belt usage numbers among the Cuyahoga County and will center on enlisting women to get their men involved in wearing their seat belts.

“In 2010, men made up only 48% of Ohio’s licensed drivers, but 74% of all drivers killed in crashes. That’s because men are far less likely than women to buckle up,” explains Sergeant Ken Gillissie, Parma Police Department.  “If every woman could get one unbuckled male in her life to change his behavior, Cuyahoga County could see a significant increase in seat belt use and a major decrease in automobile injuries and fatalities.”

This year, the “Click It Or Ticket” and the Cuyahoga Safe Communities Coalition will be organizing a campaign and promotion called “It’s OK 2 Nag…..About Seat Belts.” Women are encouraged to submit a photo of a man, either their husband, boyfriend, son, friend…etc, wearing their seat belt for a chance to win a $500 Legacy gift card for her and a one-of-a-kind baseball experience for him.

It's a simple fact that in order to establish credit, you have to use credit. For that reason alone, it's a good idea to use credit from time to time.

Last month, I explained that working an average of more than 40 hours a week is counter-productive. Not surprisingly, some readers protested that working long hours was the only way they could remain competitive.
